I thought I was buying used golf balls that I could play on the course. Instead, I was sent crappy range balls marked as such. Nowhere on the page offering the golf balls did it say that they were range balls. Pretty dishonest.

A friend of mine growing up lived in a house alongside a golf course, and we would delight ourselves on Summer days diving to the bottom of their backyard pool to get the errant balls that had sliced a little too far to the left. I like to imagine the seller 'goodgolfballs', who I ordered my '144 Casual Play and Practice Golf Balls' from, lives along a course like my old friend did.

I ordered my balls on Saturday, December 6th - hoping they'd arrive in time for a Christmas gift, and I was delighted that they arrived on Thursday, December 11th - one day before the delivery estimate. I opened the package, and found exactly what I expected - 144 Casual Play and Practice Golf Balls - used, as the product description indicates. They range in number, condition, and brand, though I'd say most were Titlist.

I bought the balls for my brother-in-law, remembering that last summer he pulled out some clubs and balls so we could hit them into the lake behind his house. It was a great memory for me, but we ran out of golf balls quickly - especially with my nephew tossing them in by the handful. Each Winter, the lake gets drained, so he can get the balls back, but I thought it would be a fun gift to fill a box with a bunch of golf balls worthy of being hit into a lake. These were perfect.

I'm not a golfer (as my performance that night attests), but my understanding is that people care about the number on the ball. So I counted how many of each number I received:

38 #1
27 #2
30 #3
42 #4
2 #5
1 #7
4 Unmarked or Practice Balls

I imagine everyone who orders this item gets a slightly different mix of balls... each box representing 144 golfers who knocked one 'just a bit outside'.
